Navy Museum, Lisbon, Portugal


Located in the parish of Santa Maria de Belém, more precisely in the west wing of the Jeronimos Monastery. 
Annually receives more than 145,000 visitors. Being the second most visited of the country. 

The Museum dates back from 1863, when king D. Luís decreed the constitution of a collection of testimonies related to the Portuguese maritime activity.

The museum includes Galeotas Pavilion which houses the royal ships, such as the Brigantine, built in 1780, and last sailed in 1957, on the occasion of the official visit of Queen Elizabeth II of England to Portugal.
